Curriculum – Computing

Computing At Cestria

Can you think of a day recently where you haven’t used technology or a computer? At Cestria, we place a huge significance on this subject area and know how important it is to each and every one of us. We are heavily invested in educating our children so they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to use computing and technology appropriately and safely now and as they progress through their lives.

We have created our bespoke Computing curriculum planning based on NACCE, Purple Mash and Barefoot to teach the different strands of computing through practical opportunities both through discreet computing lessons and through the wider curriculum. Children constantly use and evidence their learning through a range of different devices such as iPads, laptops, Chromebooks, Spheros, robotics and PCs in our newly developed Multi-Media room.

In our beautiful Edwardian building, it is amazing to see this new generation of young people in the 21st Century utilising the skills they have learnt in computing. From designing and making their own Microbit step counter to creating an object on our 3D printer. We wonder what our Edwardian pupils of the past would make of it!
