Religious Education
At Cestria we strive to provide a meaningful Religious Education curriculum relevant to the diverse world we live in today.
Using Jigsaw RE we ensure full coverage of the Durham Agreed Syllabus 2020. Using an enquiry-based approach Christianity is taught in every year group, with Christmas and Easter given a new focus each year to develop the children’s learning in a progressive way. We aim to encourage children to develop tolerance and respect for others and their beliefs. Religious Education offers our children the means by which to understand how other people choose to live and to also understand why they choose to live in that way. We acknowledge that each religion studied can contribute to the education of all our pupils.
